Education & Literacy Support SELA
Helps with youth with homework assistance/ tutoring as well as academic support in small group settings, with reading activities. They support students with literacy materials such as library books and specific literacy kits to enhance reading performance. Focuses on youth’s literacy as a primary pillar alongside STEM including visual and performing arts.
Target Age Group: All ages TK – 12 mainly seen focused on Middle and High school
Cost and Accessibility: For all students enrolled in a LAUSD school, Usually no cost to join the program you just need a parents permission to be in the program.
Hours of Operation: Before-School ("Ready-Set-Go!") Monday – Friday ~6:30 a.m. until class starts Begins about 90 minutes before the instructional day starts. After-School (Elementary) Monday – Friday School dismissal until 6:00 p.m. Students must be signed out daily by a parent/guardian. After-School (Middle/High School) Monday – Friday School dismissal; End times vary Some high school programs may run until around 6:08 p.m., but check with the specific school for exact times. Summer Programs Monday – Friday Typically 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Summer program hours vary by location and session; contact the specific summer school site for details.
