The center offers a safe, supervised environment where young people can learn about healthy living, nutrition, and wellness while connecting with community resources. Families can access food pantry services, health screenings, and social services assistance to support overall family well-being.
South Western & W 56th – Los Angeles Community Fridges
LA Community Fridges is a network of decentralized, independent refrigerators and pantries that provide free food and vital supplies to communities through mutual aid. Youth and families can access fresh produce, prepared meals, and pantry staples 24/7 without any requirements or questions asked. The South Western & W 56th location serves as a critical resource for food-insecure youth and families in South LA, operating on the principle of “take what you need, leave what you can.” Young people can also get involved by volunteering for cleaning shifts, food donations, and community organizing efforts.
